Join us for a LIVE virtual discussion featuring Casting Directors from this year's Academy Award Best Picture nominees includingLucy Bevan, Jennifer Euston, Allison Jones, and Susanne Scheel. Moderated by SAG-AFTRA member actor/writer Lori Hammel.

PANELIST BIOS:

Lucy Bevan is known for Barbie (2023), The Batman (2022) and Belfast (2021). Other films include An Education directed by Lone Scherfig, The Duchess directed by Saul Dibb, Quartet directed by Dustin Hoffman, The Hundred Foot Journey directed by Lasse Hallstrom, Testament of Youth, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Maleficent for Disney, Mr Holmes directed by Bill Condon, Cinderella directed by Kenneth Branagh and Snowden directed by Oliver Stone. Upcoming projects include Their Finest directed by Lone Scherfig, Beauty & the Beast for Disney and Murder on the Orient Express directed by Kenneth Branagh, having just cast his theatre season, including A Winter’s Tale, Romeo & Juliet and The Entertainer at the Garrick Theatre.

JenniferEuston was born and raised in NJ, an avid fan of film and television since childhood.She began her career in Casting as an intern at Universal Studios while attending NYU, Tisch School Of The Arts as a Cinema Studies major. Her first job after graduating in 1997 was as the Casting Assistant on Law & Order. Euston then worked primarily with Casting Director, Ellen Lewis, as her Casting Assistant, and then her Casting Associate on a number of films. She also had the good fortune to work with Ellen Chenoweth, Kathleen Chopin and Meg Liberman during this formative time in her career, and later worked with Allison Jones covering the NY Casting for several of her films, starting with Superbad.

Euston has been casting on her own for the past 17 years during which she has won three Primetime Emmys and six Artios Awards, along with several nominations. Her credits include films, television series and television pilots, most notably: Girls, Orange Is the New Black,G.L.O.W., VEEP, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Dickinson, The Sex Lives of College Girls, The Pacific, Bride Wars, The Other Guys, Sleepwalk With Me, Bachelorette, The Perfection, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Can You Ever Forgive Me?and most recently,Cord Jefferson's directorial debut American Fiction.

Allison Jonesis an American casting director who is credited for helping to bring together realistic ensemble casts for such television shows as Freaks and Geeks (1999) (for which she won an Emmy), Undeclared (2001), The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990), Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000), United States of Tara (2009), Parks and Recreation (2009), Arrested Development (2003) (both of which she was also nominated for), and The Office (2005).

She has also cast several successful films, including The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005), Borat (2006), and Knocked Up (2007). Allison Jones also gained casting credit for Brüno (2009). She has worked as a casting director in the entertainment business since 1982, with her first credited work for the television show Family Ties (1982). In 2015, her work as a casting director included the comedy film Get Hard (2015), Other Space (2015), and Master of None (2015).

Susanne Scheelis a New York-based casting director with a Bachelor of Science in Film and Television from Boston University. Susanne has won three Casting Society of America Artios Awards for Excellence in Casting and has been nominated for ten more. Susanne has had the honor of collaborating with several visionary creatives including Joel Coen, Ethan Coen, Frances McDormand, Tricia Cooke, Ari Aster. Barry Levinson, George Clooney, Kasi Lemmons, Ryan Murphy, Jim Mickle, Cherien Dabis, John Lee Hancock, Peter Chelsom, Celine Song, Dean Craig, Bjorn Runge, Xavier Manrique, Danya Taymor, Patrick Wilson, and Whitney White. She has worked for and with some of the industry’s top casting directors including spending the last eleven years and counting working with Ellen Chenoweth.

As a casting director, Susanne’s debut feature film “The Wife”, starred Glenn Close, Jonathan Pryce, Christian Slater, Annie Starke, Max Irons, Harry Lloyd, and Elizabeth McGovern. More recently, Susanne co-cast Celine Song’s “Past Lives” with Ellen Chenoweth. “Past Lives” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and has won numerous awards including Best Film at the AFI and Gotham Awards. "Past Lives" has also been nominated for two Academy Awards.

Susanne resides in Brooklyn with her husband, Robbie Eleazer (Director of Design at Trahan Architects), their two daughters, Elsie and June, and their beloved miniature schnauzer, Emma.
